Red Deer Rut Photo Tour / Tour Report September 2019

This new nature photo tour dedicated to the Red deer rut was booked by a family living in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland. The 2 children, aged 19 and 17, joined their parents for a memorable experience in the wilderness with the Red Deer. Guided by Corentin and Jonathan, this family trip has indeed created many memories.

Our tour are great opportunities to live exceptional moments with your family. An original way of traveling that allows you to live strong emotions with your loved ones.

So we joined our participants on Saturday morning and went directly to a first area to listen and see the Red Deer rutting. There, the landscape is breathtaking. We took the opportunity to enjoy our picnic.

After a short hike where we adjust the pace so that it suits everyone, we make them discover the technique of the hide.

Taking into account the direction of the wind, the terrain, and deer activity, Corentin positions our 4 participants at his side. Everyone sits, hides, enjoys the landscape and observes.

In 2 hours, we could see and photograph 2 hinds with their 2 fawns, and a huge deer! Our 4 participants loved this moment, saying: "It's amazing! It's like being at the movie theater! ": D Happy of such a feedback, our two guides are glad the tour started in the best way possible.

Time to go down, light begins to soften, igniting the landscape. We reach our cars to the sound of the deer rutting.

Arrived at our bed and breakfast, it's time for our participants to relax with family and enjoy an aperitif by the fireplace before dinner. The cuisine is hearty and delicious. All dishes are made only from fresh produce from the cottage farm. The place is warm and intimate.

The next morning, we get up early to go to another splendid area where we can potentially see dozens of red deer. And this time again, it was the case. Thanks to Corentin's expertise, we had many encounters throughout the morning. As always, we apply the highest ethical approach and animal photography. We always strive to limit our impact to the maximum and evolve as discreetly as possible, keeping our distance. Here are some highlights in pictures:

Stars in our eyes, we go down quietly. The hikes we propose on this 2 day trip are accessible to almost everyone. Of course, you have to be able to walk in the mountains, but by adapting our pace to our group and ensuring the safety of everyone at all times, everyone can have the chance to rub elbows with deer.

Going down, we cross the path of a red fox!

We then go to another area nearby, where it is possible to listen and observe the deer slab without really having to walk. This is the perfect place to picnic with deer. There, the deer are very very active and do not stop to burn. An extraordinary show! The deer slab is without a doubt one of the most beautiful experiences we have the opportunity to live with wild animals.

This trip dedicated to the deer's slab is coming to an end. Before that, none of the family members had the opportunity to see a wild red deer in the wild. In 2 days, they could observe more than 60! On top of that, Corentin and Jonathan were able to show them some Chamois, a pretty red fox, a couple of golden eagles and some other bird species. Our participants and our guides would have happily spent more time with deer. Hard to get tired of a show like this!
