With this very hot and dry coming to an end, we were not very confident in the diversity of bird species we could see at Marais de Sionnet that morning. Even though migration has started all around, there is almost no water in the marsh, so migrating bird, and especially shorebirds, are not showing up yet. Nevertheless, we did spot 23 species during that private excursion:

Carrion Crow
Common Kestrel
Common Pheasant
Common Stonechat
Common Woodpigeon
Eurasian Blackbird
Eurasian Blackcap
Eurasian Blue Tit
Eurasian Buzzard
Eurasian Green Woodpecker
Eurasian Magpie
Eurasian Moorhen
European Goldfinch
European Greenfinch
European Robin
Great Spotted Woodpecker
Great Tit
Grey Heron
House Sparrow
Mallard
Reed Bunting
Stock Dove
White Wagtail
Yellow-legged Gull

Whether the light and weather conditions, Marais de Sionnet is always worth it.
