Animals are not called in nor baited, so no species can be guaranteed. Also, no sensitive information that could put a species in danger will be given. Itinerary of our wildlife tour in Portugal
Meeting place : Lisbon
We will meet in Lisbon in the morning then take the road directly towards the Tagus Estuary, and particularly its nature reserve located in Vila Franca de Xira. With 270 bird species already observed, Portugal's largest wetland is quite simply the best birding spot in Portugal. Watching birds in the Tagus Estuary is very easy and comfortable. We travel through the rice fields and cultivated fields by car, until reaching the EVOA center. There, we will discover the ponds of the center on foot (paid entry is included in this excursion). For lunch, we will have our meal directly in the center where a small restaurant offers salads and sandwiches. After that, we will explore two other good birding spots in the Tagus Estuary, in order to discover other environments and see other species. Of course, the choice of sites may vary depending on the season, the latest sightings, and your wishes!
This birding trip near Lisbon will last approximately 8 hours, giving us plenty of time to observe many local bird species, both looking for resident species and migratory or wintering birds if in season.
